Background
In June 2023, our former partner, UAB PayrNet, had their EMI licence revoked by the Bank of Lithuania. As a result, UAB PayrNet ceased providing payment services for Cryptopay, and operations on Cryptopay EUR cards were discontinued for clients in the EEA and the UK. This situation did not affect Cryptopay accounts or other services, which have continued business as usual.
What is the current situation?
The PayrNet case has been ongoing for some time. From the start, Cryptopay has actively supported the legal proceedings, and our claim has already been approved by the court — an important step towards reimbursement. However, the bankruptcy proceedings are still in progress, and other claims are under review. Because of the complexity, there’s no clear timeline yet, and the process may take additional time.
Your funds have always remained safe, stored in dedicated accounts by UAB PayrNet. We’ll continue keeping you informed of all important updates. For now, it’s still not possible to transfer the balance from your previous EUR card to your Cryptopay account.
We remain committed to keeping you informed as developments occur.
Meet the new Cryptopay card
To ensure you can continue enjoying our services and access your funds without interruption, we’ve introduced a new card programme with our new provider. All eligible clients can now order their new card for free directly in their Cryptopay account.
The new card comes with better fees, higher limits, and lets you spend your crypto effortlessly — online, in stores, and at ATMs. We warmly invite clients who previously had a PayrNet-issued EUR card to switch to the new card and keep using Cryptopay payment services without limitations.
